Maybe it's time for this website to come down.
There are some issues of concern around the CAP. One of them is that the organization wastes a lot of energy over rumors, innuendo, and unsubstantiated charges. Unless people who are in a position to really know something, to have witnesses or documents in support of their charges, it's very difficult for anyone to know how to take any of this. None of us has any way to get nose-to-nose with the details of the case--and justice always requires knowing the details. Both God and the devil are in the details.
It's unfortunate that Mr. Glasgow did not pursue an investigation. I understand he felt the Inspector Genera1 process at the CAP was corrupt. In that case, it would have been important to rally support and to make a loud protest. None of us is in a position to judge his decision if he needed to disengage to attend ot his business and family obligations. But without some rigorous and credible process, nothing ever comes down to the ground. This happens a lot around the CAP.
In addition, and in response to all the Glasgow letter, a copy of a document exonerating Gen. Pineda of all charges levied against him in a Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigation has also been sent around to the CAP leadership. Many of those charges are the same ones levied on this website and by the Committee to Reform the CAP.
Dealing with runor is a distraction for the work of the CAP. If there is any validity to the rumors, that is oviously bad for the CAP. But if no one comes forward with documentation, testimony, if he or she is not supported by colleagues who find good reasons to support the issues.
But the bootm line is if accusations are made, justice requires they be provable.
